Family Trees Doula School
Our comprehensive curriculum is professional and inspiring preparing each new doula to step into their own doula practice fully prepared to care for a family. In addition to a 16 week in-depth, interactive training, we offer support throughout your new career. Our classes are taught by a certified doula and qualified, experienced educator. This affordable program is dedicated to empowering all people pursuing this career.
About Family Trees
We believe that childbirth is a normal, biological part of life and that evidence-based care and compassionate support during pregnancy and birth are basic human rights for everyone.
Family Trees seeks to educate professional, caring doulas who will support all families with respectful and personalized care, while making significant contributions to the doula profession.
Classes begin in February, June, and September and consist of didactic course work and online webinars. Lamaze Childbirth Educator Seminars are live and held throughout the year.
A cohort of students working to support one another through their training and beyond sets our program apart from other doula training organizations. While providing labor support is our key role, doulas must have additional skills to have a successful practice. Doulas are business owners, researchers, teachers, writers, website designers, and so much more. Doulas must be able to speak to medical professionals, understand research, write thoughtful, evidence based papers, present topics of interest to other professionals, organize events, yet maintain caring hands when called to a birth. Our program develops professional job skills for the successful doula.
Expand your skills by learning additional modalities that support childbirth, further your midwifery knowledge (as it applies to your scope of practice), and more. Throughout the year, we will offer fantastic continuing education to keep you at the top of the doula profession.
